1. Kids need guidance when they paint. Have lots of ideas prepared for them in advance, because they'll ask for them.
2. Write the ideas on colored slips of paper that can be fished from a bowl. Provide extras, so they can fish again if they aren't happy with their first selection.
3. Be available to guide them. They'll have plenty of questions for you.
4. Display different size brushes to choose from.
5. Show them how primary colors mixed together make other colors. They'll be fascinated.
6. Provide clear plastic cups for their Brush Cleaning Glass. They'll like watching the color change.
7. To keep their attention focused, take breaks every fifteen minutes.
8. Use this time for each child to share progress with the group.
9. When time is finally up, let each child tell the story of their Masterpiece.
10. Make clean-up into a game, with snacks as a rewardfor a job well-done.
